(5) The lack of adequate electrical isolation measures for power electronic equipment in DC distribution. If the grounding work in the DC power distribution system is not properly handled, electromagnetic circulation problems can easily cause leakage current when the system is running.



NHTSA did not review this. Believed to be one of the contributing factors in a battery fire in China, electromagnetic circulation can easily cause the leaked current Dr. Belt thought was coming from the engine. Dr Belts base theory was correct he was just off on origins. This led NHTSA to rule against his theory.
