So the potentially dillutive shares decreased by 14M over the Q that he was hired, and from that you deduce he could not have been awarded 1M or so.

Anybody else see a problem with your math?

How do you not know that there was not a 15M decrease offset by 1M award?

As far as your answer to the second question, you made a logical fallacy. That he could have been hired if he did not have the options does not imply he could not hired if he did have options.
