To be honest the motivation is the toughest part to divine given my belief in them having good data.

The fact that they have strung us along and at many points have acted like the end is closing in only to keep doing rug pulls is irrefutable. =

One choice would be to bite the bullet and just admit that the logically since they have been stringing us along and it would be illogical for them to do that with great data then logically the data is probably not so great and that they have had to go through contortions including the endpoint change to try to fit a square peg in a round hole not so much as a scam but to salvage something. Definitely they were scared we would not pass muster on the original endpoints or there is no way ethically and from a fiduciary standpoint to justify tacking on years to the trial if we had a great chance of approval.

A second choice, is to believe that their behavior is in some way irrational and that is more probable than I would like to believe. In history, leaders make irrational choices at times or to put it more charitably their behavior can be destructive but still have a logic that we cannot understand. This is especially likely with individuals who hold untrammeled power with little accountability and are surrounded by those who are personally loyal and believe in a mission greater than themselves that only the leader can pull off etc. Bring up a few of those CEO of the Year graphics at the bottom of some posts or the argument that only this leader could have kept NWBO going through impossible odds etc. here to see the mentality that would enable this.

A third choice, and the one I adopt is to simply recognize the stringing along behavior but be agnostic about the motivations and not go with the "it's a scam" argument nor excuse and enable it. This choice allows me to retain my belief in the science and that the FDA should look favorably on this trial despite our faults. Logically though the theory does not hold up, anymore than agnosticism holds up as well as outright atheism since it is by definition an uncomfortable middle ground.
