While vaccines remain effective in keeping people out of hospitals (92-97% effective), and keeping hospitalized patients from dying (85-92% effective of those hospitalized), it efficacy is waning. So there will continue to be a need for therapeutics for those unvaccinated or those contracting break through infections. SARS-CoV-2 will be with us for at least another year and likely 2 years.
