Doubt this: There will be no useful competition.

You certainly know enough organic chemistry to know that as soon as 273 delivers its p3 results, every BP in the country will be looking at various isomers that are technically and legally different chemicals, but close enough to 273 to produce similar results.

And the example Raja listed this morning sounds like an upstream solution like 273.

To say no upstream solution can be developed, once BP really starts looking there, is hubris.

Saying "There will be no useful competition." is a lot like saying "We have aspirin, there will be no useful competition."

Then came Tylenol. Well, you could say, "There will be no useful competition other than Tylenol."

Then came Advil....

There will be useful competition eventually......
