You are right to feel disquiet at those possible hints because based upon precedent that may be the only warning you get.

Some years ago, when Linda Powers talked up about the robustness of the Phase 3 trial design and how NWBO was allowed to expand the trial to add patients (and by implication extra months and years) it was buried in a bunch of positive stuff.

At no point did she say or hint that they were considering adding patients or felt that they had a need to add patients and therefore delay the end of the trial.

Later they dropped the bombshell that the trial was going to take a lot longer because they decided they needed to add patients and further that this was something they got approved by regulators and were planning even when those remarks were being made and was a step shareholders and future investors might want to know.

The icing on the cake is that while the delay due to extra patients stretched to 2020 when we got data lock we never even recruited all the extra patients thanks to the (still unexplained screening halt).

Obviously, this time could be different but while past performance by investment funds is not indicative of future results history teaches that past behavior by the same individuals can provide good indications of future behavior.
