Calling what someone says “nonsense”, “ridiculous” etc. is inherently insulting and if one does not want to debate a point then the appropriate step is to not engage with the individual.

If you want to say “prove it” then say “prove it” or better yet “please prove it.”

I occasionally sometimes still trouble to ask you to prove your (generally) unsupported rebuttals of my own points with examples etc. but I do call your points ‘nonsense’ just because proof (beyond perhaps making a claim to broad knowledge or how things are) is ever provided.
