Alcohol story: So, I'm doing some bathroom tile work in my mom's bathroom (I have no idea what I'm doing lol). But moisture got behind the tiles, has rotted the plywood and the tile mastik failed, so the tiles were loose. She doesn't wanna spend $1500 or whatever on replacing all the plywood, re-tiling, so I'm doing a Jerry-rigged know-nothing attempt at repair.

Anyway, while I was working on the bathroom, I noticed liquid on the bathroom floor, and it was coming from inside the ceiling of the bathroom closet (next to the bathtub).

It's an old house (built around 1890ish), there is no floor above bathroom, just a roof right above bathroom. The liquid that was dripping looked "soapy". First I thought "could it be a leak from the water supply to the shower? Going through the wall into the closet?" But no way, from the way things are layed out. "could it be rain water leaking through the roof??--No, it's been dry, and it wouldn't explain the "soapy" look.

Long story short, my dad (why died in 1995) had a drinking problem (ironic since he was a drug & alcohol rehabilitation counselor) as did my brother (died 2019) and me (sober almost 7 years woohoo!!)

So what was causing the dripping from the bathroom closet?? Old Schaefer beer cans that my dad had hidden up in the bathroom closet, right above and behind the door frame, out of sight.

THOSE UNOPENED BEER CANS HAD BEEN SITTING THERE FOR 31 YEARS!! lol!

And they just happened to show themselves leaking as I was working in there.

production date on the bottom of the cans, "June 1990"

My mom says it was my dad "communicating" to us lol.

Why couldn't it had been money stached away wink

Actually those cans had been very slowing leaking because there was some built up sludge (mold) growth on that ledge where the cans had been sitting, and the beer cans were coated with dried beer.

anyway, I thought it was an interesting discovery
