Humboldt is a methamphetamine infested hellhole. But, that is true of every small town in southeast Nebraska no matter what group tries to church it up. This includes Elk Creek and Tecumseh unfortunately. I lived in the area most of my life and its baaaaad down there.

AT LEAST, if this mine ever takes off it will give a shimmer of hope for a decent job for those that manage to stay off the pipe. For blue collars, down there you can be a farm hand, or get 13-15/hour at a local industry. That's it, there is nothing there that pays at all for normal people. Hopefully Niocorp will someday provide good paying jobs.
