because there was a 16 billion dollar run on the deposits

In my opinion, the run on the bank was orchestrated by JPMC and their cronies. Keep in mind, the bank was not insolvent at the time this took place it had a liquidity problem because of the run on the bank. Money was en-route to deal with the issue, however, the rest is history.
