That sounds very much as if Intel is still very much stuck in the current semi conductor paradigm: more transistors, smaller, more heat, more cooling. new packaging. Market needs photonics : simplicity in design and manufacturability and chips enabling more bandwidth, shorter wavelengths and less power. Intel has been well aware of that for years. Will they surprise us and announce a cooperation with Lightwave? I belief Gelsinger is ( and should be) capable of swallowing his pride to jumpstart his company. Does he have another solution?
