Kiwi, I think your suggestion is a good alternative for those refusing vaccination. I wonder though what percentage of those unvaccinated will begin to think this is something nefarious being put out by the authorities and begin to refuse taking the statin?

PD makes the case that studies have only studied Covid in those already on statins, but I still come back to the idea that if we don’t see a big uptick in statin consumption (they are almost free) after this data, why should we expect positive data to jumpstart V sales? I know, I know V data might show benefit if V is taken after infection rather than being on it beforehand, but I it seems products or drugs make a splashy headline one day (in regards to Covid) and then are basically forgotten about. Some of that could be related to the history that PD has elaborated on, namely; shoddy or unscrupulous research which was exposed at a later date.

Anyway your idea of taking a statin prophylactically seems like an idea without much downside for those that are unvaccinated.
