That they could be used for shorting or what have you doesn’t jump out to me as a huge con necessarily. I don’t like the concept of a MM using your order to manipulate the price. I’m mostly concerned about if the stock hits 50$ for one day, and I’m for whatever reason unconscious, is leaving a sell order so bad. The obvious caveat is if I sell at 50 I can retire before I’m forty, but if it bounces to like 150 I could buy a private island. Selling too early can kneecap your earnings but it’d be better than missing the bounce entirely.
