I think that could be possible. But someone or some entity bailed on that amount of shares and analyse said the company denied selling shares. It's just hard to know. I guess that why at times mystery surrounds market makers and some of these venture capital companies. I suppose it would come under creative finance. I do know that some investors short a stock they buy in order to protect their investment. I'm not sure as to the specifics of what the ratio is because I've never done it myself.
