One thing to consider though, if a potential buyout is in the works, would it not make sense for the purchaser to accumulate as many shares possible, at current levels, rather than payout a hypothetical price, of let's assume $1 per share outstanding, for a greater amount of shares? That way, when/if a buyout is announced, the purchase would only have to meet the $1/share hypothetical on a diminished amount of shares outstanding.
