Most government agencies are so thick with red tape and slow processes that they move at a snail's pace. Job security and no incentive to move fast and people in authority who love to use that authority in their own sweet time. For example, I have sat in the CA DMV for over three hours waiting... If the DMV relied on a capitalistic system of having to make a profit under competition, I would have been in and out of there in 15 minutes!

But.. Like him or hate him, Trump was a very aggressive individual when it came to getting his way. He really put a lot of pressure on the CDC and the FDA. There was a reason that we have vaccines years ahead of what it would have taken. But... so now we are back to normal and no one in the Biden admin will dare push the FDA for a rapid response. In fact, they really want people to take the vaccine and anything that may prevent people from doing so will be shunned.

We may see approval in the rest of the World before we see it here in the US. I hope not, but that may happen! Whatever it takes...
