The fundamental problem with this whole self charging car idea is that it takes work (energy) to make the car move, and the conversion is not 100% efficient, so that energy is LOST. Something has to replace that lost energy, and so far, there is no clue what it might be. Even if you could recover some of the kinetic energy, as my partner's RAV4 does, you can't replace it ALL, so it will run down in time. The rav4 DOES charge its battery while running, but it also has gas to run it normally.
I have worked in high tech since the 60's.
I don't have to prove what I say, it is plain physics that no energy conversion is 100% efficient. Solar panels are typically 15-18% efficient. You aren't going to charge a car with solar energy. You aren't going to change it with wires in the roads either, because he said it will work for boats.
