With his stating of going to QX and his seeming distain for OTC traders there is zero benefit for him to not do a split. Liquidity is not as big of a thing on the QX nor is trading as it is more of an investment class tier, where as you said would make sense to limit the flipping and price manipulation with penny stock traders and a higher than needed float.
