Besides graphene, I believe that carbon nanotubes will be the next big development, and those already in graphene are most likely to also get into the nanotubes. Both technologies offer tremendous growth potential.
I cannot say if this, or any particular company may align with Tesla, or any other car maker in the development of graphene based batteries, but from what I've read, it's capacity and fast charging capability should make them the replacement for lithium based batteries in the not too distant future. I believe there are many other applications, but car batteries should demand a lot of material and be quite lucrative to those who become the major suppliers.
