I imagine that Medtronic or any big medtech company (JNJ, Stryker, etc) would ALL WANT TO BE INVOLVED in the regulatory and clinical process. There is too much valuable data that comes from any clinical trial that can be collected and utilized in the commercialization of the product. To think they wouldn't want oversight is niave.
That's why in this robotic space, these companies, like Titan, will be "accounted" for before they are put in human clinical trials. If they don't get accounted for, like a TRXC, then its just a long uphill battle with no upside to investors b/c they don't have technology that is worth premium dollars from the big medtech players.
