if the technology works, then it comes down to exposure

I'd add one more thing; adoption. Even if the tech works, and it gets massive exposure, if adoption is low, it still flops. In fact, I'd submit that has been the biggest hurtle so far, previous iterations seemed more gimmicky, than commodities. You have to sell something in demand. Tik Tok was in demand and exploded. Verb has not exploded because it has been less in demand. We don't know why for sure. Could be interactive video is a novelty, or that it's delivery has been lack luster. IDK why. Some things take time for people to use them enough to rely on them, somethings just never do, because people don't find enough value. If it was originally an amazing product turning the claimed 3000%, subscriptions would have been through the roof.

The good news is that the longer this has gone on, the more refined the interface and features have become. That has to help. If Rory had simply not been drunk with dreams of instant adopt, simply because he thought he was doing something new, he might have been more careful and grown more organically, which would have been healthier for the company, investors, clients, his reputation and that of the company, the products. But it is what it is. If MS is truly going to drive this then it should help, on multiple fronts. First marketing, second, developers, heavy duty developers. If they just want to add another plug-in to the app store to elevate the number there, and Rory is promoting as MS loves us, then it's more of the same. ATM we just don't know the answers to too many of these things. Oh, everyone will claim they know, but most are simply confusing hope with knowledge.
