I don't understand why you call URGENT care centers a ripoff. The name pretty much indicates the service they provide - URGENT. You considered your problem "urgent" and got the required problem resolved "urgently". So why crib about being charged for the service provided? If you wanted a low cost solution you could have driven up to any local pharmacy and purchased the ear-wax cleaning kit for less than $20 and done this in the cmfort of your home. However, You decided your problem was urgent and needed Urgent care. You got that care, and should be happy to pay for it.

That cost structure is what allows patients the luxury of getting the care they need when and how they want it.
