Stocks are often money raised to simply pay executives handsome bonuses . If the business were profitable they wouldn't need to expend millions of dollars on lawyers and consultants to take the company public.

WOw sort of describes AMRN

Yes I understand that money has to be raised for scientific studies infrastructure expansion etc so this is not always true yet if execs were truly just interested in success of the company - like a private family business - they would never drain resources while the company is a financial failure
