sts66, in order for the result of STRENGTH to make sense in light of REDUCE-IT, the ~800mg of DHA in the Epanova dose must be doing something else other than just sitting there.

Otherwise, it is only rational to expect that the relatively large dose of EPA (~2200mg?) should have resulted in some level of CVE benefit.

I believe that there was a recent study presented -- can't remember the source -- where it was contended that DHA may be competing for EPA in uptake in some fashion.

We had this debate here long ago, and JL always insisted that nothing of this sort was going on -- that it was just about how much IPE was being ingested.
