I upgraded to a smart phone last month, and discovered apps want to update very frequently, like every week it seems. I had to disable automatic updates, because Google Maps is screwed up for me with the latest versions.
Long story, and I've been trying to get answers online with no success. I joined Androidforums.com to ask for solution, and can't get one.
I have 2 tablets, and smart phone, and have the identical problem on all three. (has to do with offline maps).
So I'm running old Google Maps version so I can use the stupid thing. I can't even download and install offline maps with the latest version, but it seems no one else in this quadrant of the galaxy is having the same problem lol.
Find a version that works, and stick with it.
