I don't think you're talking about the Avalon I've spent a fair deal of time at, the one on Catalina Island. It's one of my favorite places, especially when staying on our boat in the harbor. As a kid I played golf there and the buffalo's were a hazard on the course, but now they're all pretty much kept in the middle island.

The song was written about my Avalon.
