I am asking this question because I don't know the answer.

Is there any law preventing the one/two reps who hire counsel to pass on the list of all shareholders to the council and tell the counsel the following?

1. That the lawyer's office sends or email a note to all shareholders on the list that reps provide, acknowledging that they work for those shareholders?

2. That lawyer only contacts and updates the reps and it is the reps responsibility to pass the info to the shareholders?

If one or two individuals hire counsel to represent only their interests, that's who the lawyer(s) work with, that's who gets contacted and updated, and that's who gets paid in a settlement.
