As the recipient of stem cells I know how difficult it is to get a match, and the complications others cells create even after a great match. I've got a feeling the same will apply here.

If a person can have their own stem cells harvested, then used in the same way donor cells would be, all the complications involved in GVHD are eliminated.

I had a 12 point match, which is as good as it gets, but even today, after 6 years, I have allergic reactions to products that never bothered me before, largely sun screens. At first I thought I was getting burned with almost zero exposure, but then I realized the lotions themselves were making my face feel burned.

If I had to advise someone who had a choice of using their own cells, or someone else's, even if there is a heavy premium on using your own, I suggest paying the added premium. In my case that wasn't possible, in some cases you have to go with a match and worst case I believe they will use a 9 point, and perhaps even an 8 point match in a real emergency.
