Short term flipping, as you term it is no different than what a hedge fund or mutual fund does. I am a block Trader. I do not trade small share so every micro uptick is hundreds of dollars to me and every full cent move is typically $1,000 - $2,000 to me.

Everything is relative. If you are an investor, chances are you own a small amount of stock, let's say perhaps $5,000 worth. I've noticed that whenever somebody says that this is going to 50 cents or to a dollar oh, that categorically they own a pretty small amount of stock and would need that type of a percentage move in order to make a decent amount of money. I just prefer to make that same amount of money in minutes versus having to wait weeks or months and in this particular case, none of us knows what the outcome is going to be in favor for the common stockholder which resides at the lowest rung of the debt repayment ladder
