Need income

Missling has said that he is moving forward as fast as possible. Remember the "make trials fail fast" remark.

Time costs money and Missling has been very good at managing expenses. Not to mention that delays in approval means more misery for those with the various diseases.

As he pointed out, grant money comes with a longer time frame attached. He has decided that the costs of "free money" are not worth the benefits. So he went with Plan B, go to Australia where the government reimburses 50% and get grants from the advocacy groups that don't have the same strings attached.

If investing was easy, everyone would be rich by now.
