Fascinating video (29 sec. - the entire process was recorded in 1 hour and 40 minutes) of a battle between the immune cell soldier and a highly aggressive skin cancer cell .
The immune cell soldier is a so called "cytotoxic T-cell", also known as "CD8+ T-cell" or "killer T-cell". Cytotoxic T-cells are the immune system’s ground troopers, equipped with tools to detect and destroy any abnormal or invading cell.

Amazing to see how this immune cell soldier (yellow) fights a highly aggressive cancer cell (magenta). The cancer cell is a tough opponent to face and it takes multiple punches to knock it out.

The cancer cell contains a sensor that lights up when it is being punched by a T-cell soldier.

We use this model to study why the immune system fails to kill cancer cells in patients. With these insights, we can develop new treatments to strengthen the immune response against cancer.
