Being a moderator, I have learned that one should always be open and accept alternative and differing opinions. One can do so without being beligerant or attacking. It is called professionalism.
I welcome all questions, whether opposed to, or in favor of, a given stock. If we are in fact unwilling to accept opposing views, unwilling to explore legitimate questions raised, and are negligent in researching disparaging or negative views and discoveries, have we truly done our DD?
Such questions, along with the answers discovered, enable us to make truly informative decisions, whether it be to buy, sell, or simply avoid a play.
And an opposing opinion is not from "the darkside". It is simply just that; an opposing opinion.
People should not take the time to defend their investments against negative opinion, but instead take the time to investigate the opinion, and refute it where evidence is available to do so. If the evidence discovered shows otherwise, then the investor should thank the opposing opinion, rather than taunt it.
Only a fool would rely solely on the opinion of others (whether positive or negative)to make their investment decisions for them
