When I’m educating a non-believer about cannabis, here’s what I say: 1. You have an endocannabinoid system which directly interacts with the compounds in cannabis to create balance and homeostasis in the body. This system influences mood, sleep, pain, inflammation, appetite, immunity, and more, and for some magical reason, has receptors that directly interact with the cannabis plant’s cannabinoids. 2. Despite what you’ve been led to believe, cannabis is remarkably safe. It will not hurt your brain, lead you to addiction or other substances, or cause any lingering harm of any kind. Scientifically it has been shown to have a similar safety profile to caffeine (but actually a little safer). 3. Sleep is one of the game-changers for cannabis. It just about always works, leaves you with zero negative side effects, and has such a profoundly positive impact on your life. 4. You don’t want to smoke? No problem. You can now find cannabis in every delivery method, so try an edible, tincture, capsule, drink, patch, sublingual, or oil instead. 5. You don’t want to get high? Thats fine too, although most people I know end up experimenting with THC once they get comfortable. That said, you’ve got plenty of options with cbd.
