"best is to wipe it out with oil(heated a bit)" So now you have a cast iron pan that has a light film of oil on it. For some reason, rancid comes to mind. "A properly seasoned pan is an aged, well used pan. No short cuts ;)" I've got one that's over 100 years old and used for camping. You'd love it. I don't think the seasoning would come off with a jack hammer.
