I've noticed that every year, for the past few years, Buffett seems to endorse S&P 500 Index funds more enthusiastically, and in the last year, BRK bought some.

I think he was targeting at the youngsters and especially with ones who have 401K accounts.

Don't screw around looking for a specific stock or the new best Apple.
