The Colcorona colchicine study was closed and data presented in 3 days.

“The last study visit occurred on January 19, 2021, the database was then cleaned and locked and statistical analyses were performed by experienced biostatisticians at our coordinating center. We were presented the results on January 22, 2021 by the biostatisticians.

The statement that they MAY not publish the interim results is just common sense. They would only publish IF the p value was strong and the information would benefit society. What’s the point of publishing neutral data or if your p value was 0.3 or even 0.06 - the critics (read Nissen) would rip them apart.

I find it hard to believe they haven’t got 750 pts on Vascepa, it’s just a question of waiting for 3 months follow-up but they will know that exact date.

500 Pts by mid December, recruiting about 150/pts/month (minimum) should get them to 750 by mid February. (Note: Enrollment will occur over a projected 6-month timeframe and all patients will complete a minimum follow-up duration of 6 months from the index date.) Add 3 months and you get mid May. 3 days to process data (using Colcorona as an example) and May 15 is doable.
