That’s an interesting perspective, and like the thinking. It’s also very possible that Merck would want to announce the acquisition prior to Frazier’s departure, since he’s responsible for arranging the deal and may want the credit for seeing it through to completion. Wall Street might like having Frazier’s endorsement as well.

Before or after wouldn’t change Merck’s messaging, and Davis would also be in front of investors when the announcement is made.
