I just found out about the boycott of Coca Cola. I don't really follow the so called "news" all that much and must have missed it. I also don't have Fox, CNN, or anything but Cheddar News as I use a streaming service for TV. I do follow some of the news on the web though, and try and stay "up to date" with most matters.

It doesn't surprise me in the least that there's a backlash, as that's what happens when you alienate so many people with your political agenda, instead of running a company and focusing on the bottom line for investors.

Unfortunately Coca Cola isn't alone in this regard, and most other companies are on a similar path, including PepsiCo. Few companies at this stage are keeping their hands out of politics, and there should be no surprise when half the country, give or take, calls them out on it, and stops using their products.

I've actually begun rating individual companies based on their social media feed, whether or not they have agendas that I disagree with from a moral and ethical standpoint. Most companies have social media arms where they're very vocal about their true agendas and what they support. Of course, I've given Coca Cola the lowest rating possible. Others may consider them highly, and I'm fine with that. They won't get a dime of my money from here on out, in terms of products or stock purchases and sales.

As a consumer that doesn't drink alcohol but on rare occasions, I'll admit that I drink far too much soda. I've decided to give up both Coke and Pepsi products given their open political agenda, and will switch to another brand and probably even try and cut down on the bad stuff for health purposes.
