Coca-Cola has faced numerous lawsuits, including those alleging deceptive marketing regarding sustainability and plastic pollution, as well as claims of racial discrimination and "channel stuffing".
Here's a more detailed breakdown of some of the key lawsuits:
Sustainability and Plastic Pollution:
Earth Island Institute v. Coca-Cola Co.:
The Earth Island Institute sued Coca-Cola, alleging that the company's marketing misled consumers into thinking that its business is environmentally sustainable, despite Coca-Cola's reliance on single-use plastics and touting recycling as a solution.
Los Angeles County Lawsuit:
Los Angeles County sued Coca-Cola and PepsiCo, alleging that they contributed to plastic pollution and engaged in deceptive marketing practices regarding the recyclability of plastic beverage containers.
Sierra Club Lawsuit:
The Sierra Club filed a lawsuit against Coca-Cola, BlueTriton Brands, and Niagara Bottling for misleading consumers by labeling their plastic bottles as "100% Recyclable".
Greenwashing Lawsuit:
A D.C. Appeals Court ruled that Coca-Cola must face a lawsuit alleging it deceptively marketed the role sustainability plays in its business strategy.
Racial Discrimination:
Coca-Cola Racial Discrimination Lawsuit: A case alleged that Coca-Cola employed racially discriminatory business practices that limited the professional advancement of African-American employees, including claims of a "glass ceiling" and "glass walls".
Other Lawsuits:
"Channel Stuffing" Settlement:
In 2008, Coca-Cola agreed to pay $137.5 million to settle a shareholder lawsuit alleging "channel stuffing," or artificial inflation of Coca-Cola's results.
Coca-Cola Southwest Lawsuit:
Former participants of Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages LLC's 401(k) plan filed a complaint against the soda distributor, alleging a breach of fiduciary duties under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act for offering "underperforming" target-date funds and mismanaging forfeited 401(k) funds.
Caffeine Lawsuit:
In the early 20th century, the government sued Coca-Cola under the 1906 Pure Food and Drug Act, trying to force the company to remove caffeine from its formula, believing that the product was adulterated and misbranded.
Baltimore Sues Coca-Cola and PepsiCo:
The City of Baltimore filed a lawsuit against Coca-Cola and PepsiCo, alleging that the companies' plastic bottles have littered the city and engaged in a disinformation campaign to make consumers falsely believe that purchasing their products in single-use plastic bottles is an environmentally responsible choice. $KO
Coke-Cola Company $KO Stock only worth $5.78 per share on Book Value. Has a whopping Debt of Total Debt (mrq) $46.66 Billion. Way overbought, over pumped. Plus $KO is still holding on their DEI Racist hiring program that is well known to be Anti-White, US court allows Trump to enforce ban on DEI programs.
Have you EVER made a bullish post?? I've seen you on several boards and you're just typically wrong.
Are you saying here that PEP is now favored over KO?
I'll take that bet.
Are you a bot?
Board of Directors of The Coca-Cola Company Approves 63rd Consecutive Annual Dividend Increase

Board of Directors of The Coca-Cola Company Approves 63rd Consecutive Annual Dividend Increase
The Board of Directors of The Coca-Cola Company today approved the company’s 63rd consecutive annual dividend increase, raising the quarterly dividend approximately 5.2% from 48.5 cents to 51 cents per common share.
The quarterly dividend is equivalent to an annual dividend of $2.04 per share, up from $1.94 per share in 2024. The first quarter dividend is payable April 1 to shareowners of record as of March 14.
The company returned $8.4 billion in dividends to shareowners in 2024, bringing the total amount of dividends paid to shareowners since Jan. 1, 2010, to $93.1 billion.
Typically I don't watch KO since it's a long term hold anyway, but it seems to be forming a flag formation on the chart. That is odd coming from an old time blue chip. What the heck is going on over there to make this move so quickly?
I see Vanguard Institutional Index is dumping some shares, but that seems necessary considering they have restrictions on percentage they can hold.
I see American Funds American Mutual (AMRMX)has added a lot of shares. They don't have as many restrictions and I notice American Funds owns KO in 9 different funds.
I've had lunch with one of their managers before, and he told me they tend to move shares of companies around within the fund family, but I don't see any of them subtracting. In fact I see they are also adding KO to Washington Mutual (AWSHX) and American Income Fund (AMECX) as well, which may explain the share price jump.
It's a bit funny, everyone talks about how many shares Buffet owns, but there are many elsewhere as well

$KO beat the street estimates by 3 cents, and who knows what the whisper numbers were? Crazy to see a value play this large easily move up over 10% in a week. I've owned Coke long enough to know not to get too excited by short term moves, but it seems the next move is to $80. Not very exciting if you're a tech stock, but still awesome. Especially if, as I suspect, they raise the dividend next quarter.....maybe to 52 cents?
I guess we beat the whisper numbers

Well, since that Communist took over as CEO, the company has increased earnings and raised the dividend. I think you should be slamming them on the PEP board, as that stock has really taken a tumble.
Look no further than the Brit running the company. His own country of origin
now throws people in jail for memes!
KO’s DEI & CRT programs are all Marxists constructs and Quincy gave it up faster than a $20 ho on payday! Their involvement with the election was even more absurd. Like I said previously, if the company doesn’t 180 its policies ASAP they will learn the hard way. No amount of fluffing can change that.
maybe you should go back to just telling everyone how brilliant you are. its a good look for you.
“You sound like one of the guys who quit drinking Bud Lite to send a message to the company, so you changed to Busch Light. Investing should NEVER be personal”
Are you numb Fung or just holed up in a nursing home? In the digital age, everything matters and should Coke remain woke, they will ultimately learn the lesson the hard way. I would agree that historically, Coke has been a very good company to own. that’s why i was invested. Right up to the point where they let the Marxists maniacs in the door to dictate corporate policy. That’s a deal breaker in post election 2024. If management moves to clean house of all the BS political nonsense they have engaged in, then perhaps it warrants another look but i see nothing yet….maybe you should go back to just telling everyone how brilliant you are. its a good look for you.
Might get our little dip to 69 area
Well, I've owned KO for a lot of years and the big swings have always been followed by pullbacks.....The trend is always been up, but rarely with spikes.
Not getting a significant pull back basing higher
Investors want Dividend so I think that there is a huge demand for the stock
I thought we'd see KO making a pullback to $65, but it seems to be rising far faster than its earnings. It seems to have a chart very similar to 3/22, but then Covid hit and it overcorrected. Hope that's not coming again, but what am I missing? Historically, this isn't the time of year when it peaks.
Allah and Satan allowed NO JESUS?
More Outrage needed, this isn't Bud Light -- I was hoping this Social media attack would cause a dip, so far nothing

🔥🚨BREAKING: Coca Cola is facing backlash across America after it was revealed that they won't let you personalize a can with "Jesus" but allows Satan, Allah and all of the Babylonian Gods and demons.
Consolidation is healthy 75 break will come
We dipped the last 8 sessions next upswing be break 75
just not sure if we get a deeper dip or this is it first
Maybe that was the perception but kind of a Rig job don't you think?
Hmmmm, does this mean Kamala won it?
Market only down 700 points after the debate
Maybe get a shot at seeing 60s again
That would be great, way more diverse then Pepsi co
I like that product portfolio
much better as a way to de risk semiglutides craze
Been a while since it has split. I'd like to see a 10% special stock dividend.

Yep Looking great, just a matter of time till we see 100
Looking good. Another all time high and green on a huge red day
KO has a history of leaps and then pulling back a bit. I really should sell off a couple thousand shares, but don't want the tax hit. Although, with politics as they are, I may be paying a whole lot more taxes next year....
I probably should just buy protective puts I guess. I don't think writing calls will solve the tax problem.
Agreed, add on red days
Got to nibble over time Great Company with Divy
KO is an amazing hold for a lifetime, just let it keep turning over, but COKE the bottling company will always be a huge part of profitable stock in my portfolio. COKE will always continue to grow, so I advise to throw a little money into this on the dips if there ever is one.
Please go down
So i can add more
Looks good KO green on a market red day
You’re a genius in your own world
Ummmm, you do realize the stock price is at an all time high, right?
Either you don't understand how investing works, or else you just screwed up big time.
It's up 18% YTD and I now have 8033 shares.
You sound like one of the guys who quit drinking Bud Lite to send a message to the company, so you changed to Busch Light. Investing should NEVER be personal.
The moment coke went woke they lost a large chunk of their investors. I divested all but 500 shares and it was the right move. When they meddled in BS politics they got what they deserved!
Not to jinx it, but KO has had an outstanding last 4 months. I am almost giddy.
"Yellow 6" caused adrenal tumors in animals, though that is disputed by industry and the FDA. It may be contaminated with cancer-causing chemicals and occasionally causes severe hypersensitivity reactions. Minute Maid lemonade by Coca-Cola in the US contains the artificial food dye Yellow 5.
