I agree with most of the information in your post. However, I take exception to the idea that:

I agree that the loans were needed to get to this point

The loans from the Whelan family were "nominal", and allowing their value to be exchanged for 2/3rds of BIEL is outrageous.

Shareholders invested tens of millions of dollars buying up the securities that AW was printing, and that KW continues to print.

For all those millions of investment dollars, shareholders only get 1/3 of the company, whilst the Whelans, who for years took salary, benefits and invested a "nominal" amount of money get 2/3rds of a publically traded company? REALLY?!?!?! This is not fair to independent BIEL investors. The ones who really, truly, kept the company funded and ongoing.
