I will be surprised if Northwest Bio doesn’t present at ASCO this year prior to publication in a journal. That’s how it’s normally done by the biotech companies that I follow. It’s the biggest bang for the buck (even though virtual again) for release of the trial results, and I think it could receive more public and market attention than publication in a top-tier medical journal that everyone here seems to be expecting. Plus the timing of data lock, analysis, and preparation for presentation, would seem to be perfectly timed for ASCO. And then a publication in The Journal of Clinical Oncology, (which is still a highly respected journal) could be released on the heals of the meeting. While I certainly hope that Linda Liau would be properly recognized for her accomplishment by publication in a top-tier journal, it’s possible there’s another potential path that would still provide acceptable validation, in my opinion.

In any case, even if Northwest Bio isn’t listed in the abstract titles released this week, I don’t think everyone should get their panties in a bunch. We could hear a more definitive timeline at the ASM, and there’s still the late-breaking abstracts, which are released on June 3rd.
