So the SCAMalyzer catridges have a use without the SCAMalyzer?

They actually do! On top of holding the 50mg sample of cannabis to be tested in the MYDX device, they also serve as a means to prove a point that MYDX currently has more than one SKU available for purchase.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!

They also sell the CannaDX sensor that is ultilized by the MYDX unit in order to test cannabis samples. It is also under an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SKU! MINDBLOWING I KNOW!!!

It's kind of like how your car is when you buy it off the lot. You purchase a fully assembled unit (the car), and as things wear down or get used, you need to replace them (like brake pads/rotors/tires, etc).

These are called wearable components, or comparatively, "consumables". Although they are purchased together as a single unit initially (like when you drive your car off the lot), when purchased at a later date, they are purchased individually, and are identified or tracked using a unique name/number/identifier, because, THEY ARE SEPARATE COMPONENTS.
