I use biometric unlock on my Google phone. If my index finger is wet the detection fails. You always have the option to use a PIN though.

Same for iPhones that use FaceID to unlock. Masks can cause that feature to fail, so you use a PIN instead.

I wonder what would happen if you just cut The Finger, temporarily messing up your print.
