As an aside, years ago I had a "C" position at a small hi-tech NASDAQ that was previously private. After going public the CEO/COB (previous owner) would make some deals with "friends", I do not think he was doing anything unethical, just not realized that this is not how business works in the US (CEO/CBO was Chinese).

In a side conversation with the CFO, the CFO joked that his main job was keeping the CEO out of jail.
