Yes, I think that it probably was just a coincidence, 2 individuals with the same name and I see now that the Ron Bain with GSPE was in the geological/geophysical specialty at a very high level. Not likely at all that he would be the same as the Ron Bain associated with the other company

I was scanning some potential M&A candidates and ran across that familiar name but no evidence of an actual match

On that angle though, there is a considerable uptick in investment capital flowing into M&A activities for the domestic Oil and Gas sector

Some of it is opportunistic buying of assets from distressed companies reeling from the sudden shock of Covid impacts, but a big part is a result of stimulus money flow impacts into investment in general

Lots of money looking for every possible good place to stick to
