Rung a bell. Pages of hits on nest spying. There's a reason goog is giving them away for almost free. For one they can afford it, but they want their product on your wall. Too many reports of troubles with any google based product. Even lightbulbs can be hacked. No reason in the world for a light bulb to be internet accessible, let alone a smart thermostat with full wifi access. It doesn't matter if they are doing anything with the data or not. The fact is the technology is there, it's active and can be hacked. I don't believe goog as far as I can throw tRump. There are a lot of hits about goog going back 5 or more years with their helpful 'smart' devices. Some links are flakier than others, but the sheer amount of complaints shows some credibility.
