Hey Man, I have a VFW card but honestly moved a couple times and didn’t keep up on the dues. My wars were the Gulf in 91 and Afg. I was a FO in artillery in the 90s and years later went back in after 9-11 to a Guard aviation unit. Did a full 1 year Nam-length tour. 5 birds lost. 2 Chinooks 2 Blackhawks 1 Apache, it’s a funny story...in some ways...but not really...older guy working at the out processing center had a pic of a group of young men on a wall in front of a jungle tree line...of course I knew it was Vietnam and I asked him about it, he goes, “yeah that’s me, the rest of those guys are dead, fing Major got em killed for no fing reason...”

The next day I was in a bar thinking how all wars have certain things in common
