Just based on what you posted here

Mori

DHA --------> sig increased LDL-C
EPA --------> Nonsig increase LDL-C

Kurabayushi

Estriol -------> no reduction in trigylcerides
Estriol+EPA --------> highly sig reduction in triglycerides

So, would an inventor think EPA might lower triglycerides while not increasing LDL-C based on Mori and Kurabayushi (and Lovaza PDR)?

The only possible answer is that the combination of Estriol and EPA lowered trigs - even though Estriol alone did not lower trigs but the combination of Estriol and EPA lowered trigs does this necessarily mean its the EPA that is lowering trigs ? ONe simply does not know - ( IT may be that the estradiol and EPA in some manner interacted to induce trig lowering ) thus a person of science would simple say I do not know - the only way to answer that is to do a study just using EPA
