New information about locking up your shares to keep short sellers from borrowing them. TD Ameritrade told me last week that they never loan out your shares IF you are not trading in a margin account. So, if you do have a margin account, your shares need to be locked up by putting in a high sell order (Limit order, NOT Market order). But, if you don't trade in a margin account, there is no need.

I asked if other brokers have the same rules. He believed they do, but if you are not with TDA, it would be best to confirm with your own broker.
