Absolutely! That is the currently accepted social norm. I should point out.......there is really no need to even marry in this society, perfectly okay to live together in sin. I did not take my husband's name, in 15 years, maybe 2 people have inquired as to our marital status.
Medical providers and insurance clerks seem to be the ones with the most concerns around this issue. One decided to hyphenate my name, another decided it really should be changed to my spouse's name. All fine and dandy, it was just a little inconvenient when they kept losing lab results and such.
